/ Jody McBrayer's Biography /

For a guy who only minored in music, Tampa-born Jody McBrayer has become widely known for his major vocal talent. A 1991 graduate of Liberty University, Jody got his professional start performing for two years with the vocal group TRUTH, before moving to California to work in the casting department at Disney Studios. Disney was a great professional opportunity, but while there, God began to prick his heart, compelling Jody to get his spiritual priorities in order. Six years later, Jody moved to Nashville and began seeking God for new direction, new opportunities to follow his dream into music. Within a matter of months, AVALON was born, and Jody had found his home. Somewhere among seven studio recordings, 20 No. 1's and touring the world with Avalon, Jody met Stephanie Harrison, whom he married in March of 1999. Apparently that was all the inspiration he needed to fulfill a personal dream of his: recording a solo project, which he aptly titled This Is Who I Am. In May of 2005, Jody came face to face with his biggest accomplishment to date as he and Stephanie welcomed their first child, Sarah Clayton, in May of 2005.

"It's just amazing to be in this place, being able to do what I love and encourage and bless others while doing it," Jody says. "But the reason we sing these songs every weekend is to let
people know about Jesus, the price He paid for us and how much He loves us, no matter what we've done or where we've been. That's why we're still here."

Jody, Stephanie and baby Sarah Clayton live in Franklin, TN.
